My green duece just arrived. Absolute base model with 5 speed and nothing optional.

Somebody may recognise me from specmiata.com or the new mazdaracers.com sites. I have been building and racing Miatas for 11 years. I currently own 5 Miata race cars, 2 donor Miatas, 2 street cars (one is supercharged) , one Mazdaspeed Miata and I traded another Mazdaspeed Miata for the duece. I have 20+ customer Miatas in the shop. I am fairly familiar with Mazdas.

Immediate Mods will be a set of 15x7 D-Force wheels and some Toyo Spec Miata tires, probably tomorow. I have Bilstein coil overs on order. I hope to have the car on the dyno and on the scales this week.

If you look at my current website, advanced-autosports.com, you will see I like to build widgets that make the car handle better. I plan on doing the same for the duece. Eventually this car will become an SCCA B-spec race car.

I will be posting pix and info on my new website dedicated to Mazda 2's www.mz2speed.com. Don't expect much in the next few weeks, but once I get this project rolling I will have a bunch of widgets.

Awesome! I'm curious what the Dyno sheet looks like on a stock 2. Your MX-5 collection is impressive.

disecting an alien

Not much has been happening in the last month.

The pix shows me using the alien as a track support vehicle at Road America last month. We had 17 spec Miatas to support that weekend.

The car now has 2500 miles on the odometer. This afternoon it will be put on our Dyno-Jet chassis dyno for some baseline runs.

This weekend the real work starts. I have the Bilstein suspension package and the air conditioning delete kit. Plus I will be removing the interior to begin fabricating the roll cage.
