Hey guys

my wifes mazda 2 neo had a new radiator put in after the front end was damaged now the cooling fans arent coming on trying to figure out whats wrong, no codes via obd2

the ac system was regassed and is working although it is noisy which makes me think they didnt do something right.

also there is a 2 pin plug down near the radiator fan plug which is not connected to anything,

I thought this might be for the 2nd NTC sensor in the radiator but the radiator they put in doesnt have one

I am pretty frustrated to say the least

thanks for any ideas, fuses are fine and I swapped the fan relay no change

wel I tested the fan plug with the engine running and Im getting 12v on both pins + pins and good ground on both negative pins - the voltage/relay clicks on and off with the airconditioning compressor, so it looks like the fan they swapped in is bad..

my concern is that without the AC on the engine seemed to be at temperature but the system was not triggering the relay I was not seeing votlage at those pins after watching for quite some time for the 12v .. I dont know why .

I measured the NTC sensor on the cylinder head and it was within range cold and hot

the shop swapped in another fan because I tested the pins and thats fixed it

fans now come on with AC

I realised the cooling fan itself doesnt come on until 100 degrees celsius at low speed and then at 108 celsius it will come on at high speed. it comes on at low speed (1 pin +) iwth low refrigerant pressure and at high speed (2 pins +) at medium refrigerant pressure - it was all in the service manual just took me a while to find the specs
