Does anybody experienced a clutch issue on his/her mazda 2 hatchback?
I'm having issues with my m2 unit and I have talked to a service manager on mazda bout this and the they said that it is a known issue... I just want to hear other opinion on this... The 1st scenario is like this... when ever I'm in traffic there is a irritating smell like something had been burn (clutch). 2nd will be when I'm running on a high speed and I need to go on a lower gear there is again a irritating smell coming inside the car it smells like something had been burned my millage is at 1,100... Did this also happened to you & what did you do to avoid from happening again? need your creative inputs on this...

revving the car while the clutch is engaged, or not letting the car go into gear before revving the car, granted you can do it a lil bit at low rpms without getting issues but if you are bouncing off the limiter, you will see issues come up quickly.

My clutch is alot different from my old car, but that's because the clutch is worn out in the old car. I've never smelled any clutch burning or funky smells while driving my 2. I'm at 2600 miles with no issues. Maybe you need to find another dealer to check it out or take the service manager for a drive and show him what it's doing. Goodluck.

not tryin to hijack thread BUT

isnt the clutch an engine topic instead of wheels and suspension ..
just sayin cuz in people will be searching in engine area for this type of thing and not here ..would be more helpful if it were moved..
your issue sounds like you ride your clutch to long when shifting ..stop it and the smell will disappear

I have a 2010 registered Mazda 2 with 108K miles on the clock. Whenever I depress the clutch pedal, or lift it, there is a single 'clunk'. Not very loud but clearly audible. I clutch pedal mechanism has been checked; no problem. It therefore must be inside the clutch housing. Any ideas?
