cant really say if mazda offers it or not. but if you want a good roof rack try and look on yakima.com. they make really good roof racks for almost any car. plus they have some nice locking snowboard/ski racks to go with their roof racks.

Yes. Mazda offers one, BUT so does Thule, Yakima, and Inno Racks. If money is no object, get the one offered by Mazda: about $400 just for the base system. Thule is about $350 for the base system, Yakima is $350, and Inno Racks will be about $220. I'm waiting for Inno to offer one but it may be a while. I have a 156cm board and it fits in the Mazda 2 with the seat down, but if you travel with more than 3 people, you'll be in tight quarters.

I've got the yakima control tower set up on mine and it's been great. I also have a box for my ski's. The one thing that is a bit of a hassle is that the bike trays needed to be mounted backwards or they would hit the hatch when it's up. When the box is on (Thule Atlantis 1600) you can only open the hatch about half way... but if the seats are down you can access the cargo compartment very easily from the back doors... minor set back... The control tower set up is an easy install as it just bolts right into holes already there from the factory. Pretty slick...
