First New Car!

Hello! My name is Sidney and I'm only 18 years old. This is my first new car and car loan! I have chosen the Spirited Metallic Green 2011 Mazda2 Sport A/T and picked her up Monday! Still looking for a good name...
I'm new to forums as well, so i'm still getting adjusted to it all. I still own my 2001 Dodge Neon which I will sell privately soon because trade in wasn't worth the money.
I'm actually entering college and was looking for an inexpensive compact car that I would be able to afford. I serve at a local Texas Roadhouse.
I also have yet to decided what I'll will modify on her if I will at all... so I'm open to suggestions to small stuff! :)
Thanks! :) Can't wait to see what goes on here!

welcome to the forum Sidney!

post some pic's of your ride if you can.
i bet you'll love the Mazda2, im not a big dodge fan and never liked the Neon's and heard bad things about them .

to modify your Mazda2, rims are always a nice start, or if you love music as much as i do... a aftermarket audios setup would be awesome!

I loved my neon! But she was a little scuffed and 204k miles ehh...

I did purchase a green auxiliary cable for my ipod!

^^Good choice of color!! Green is my favorite so yeah I'm bias lol.

If I were to get a 2, I'd go for Green. Its unique and not the common boring bland silver, beige colors that most cars are.
Hi Sidney! Nice car. My only question is.. how do you like that automatic transmission? Before I got my blue one I read some reviews and the manual sounded better because of the small engine.
I'm actually on my second 2 because the first one was totaled in a hit-and-run after just 5 weeks of owning it. I'm on about week 9 with my second baby and keeping my fingers crossed!

204k miles on a neon is quite a lot, I have yet to come across a neon that did that much without falling apart.

Glad you purchased a Mazda2! Love the pictures, thanks for sharing :)

Great color choice too.

Just what i thought. The green available for the Mazda2 is a really "unique" and different color. Seeing in in the typical silver and biege colors would just be boring.

I read that the Mazda2 manual transmission makes a huge difference with performance and you just get a whole different vibe driving the 2. Most automotive review sites say the mazda2 manual transmission is amazing for the price you pay.

I would say get it!

I'll be a broken record but as mentioned the manual would be a better choice if you can. Notoriously small hp cars are better with a manual as you can get more power out of the engine. An auto just saps up power and the car will feel like a dog. of course the Mazda is geared for more "sporty" gearing, its still a 4 speed. I wish I had a manual but I don't, no not a Mazda but a Toyota. Its still peppy but of course boring to drive. Oh well!:D
Hi everyone, just wanted to chime in- I bought a 2011 2 Touring (in white, sorry) with the 5 speed, and I love every minute of it- it's way more fun than the automatic! The auto just felt like my wife's Mazda5, and I wanted something more sporty- anyone looking for a new 2, make sure to test drive the stick shift, it's worth it!

That's cool. My 5-speed sport is white!

I made the mistake of not test driving the manual transmission Mazda2, i was so pleased with the automatic transmission Mazda2. Time to go back and get behind the wheel of the 5-speed mazda2 :D

I heard the 5-speed mazda2 is really sporty for what it is, a lot more sporty than what it should be
