mazda 2 acceleration

i found a video of someone doing a 0-100 test on their Mazda 2 and im not really impressed with how long it takes the Mazda 2 to reach speeds of 100 KM/H. It's pretty slow, but better than the civic i have.

what can be done to get better acceleration?
