Hello All,

Patrick here. I drive mainly Honda cars but at last year's SEMA show, I secretly became a fan of the Mazda 2 when I spotted the Evil 2 concept.

I co-founded MFactory (details in signature) that specializes in gearing and limited slip differentials for sport compacts. We also do clutches and axles. I am hoping that the B-spec series will gain popularity and the 2 will be a regular at track events in the future!

Hello All! My name is Richard and I just picked up a 2011 Mazda 2 Touring, Brilliant Black, 5-speed, this weekend... and I LOVE IT. My fiance and I traded our 2010 VW TDI Sportwagen for the Mazda 2 and a 2010 CX-7 i SV (she loves it too).

A little bit of my Mazda car history: My first car was a 1992 Mazda Protege, then I owned 2 1988 RX-7s, then a 2001 Protege MP3, 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5, now the 2! I have had a number of different brands in between, but I always seem to come back to Mazda...

While this forum doesn't seem too active yet, I am hoping that others will start to see how awesome the Mazda 2 is and come here to post about it!
I will try to be active and will participate as much as I can.

Looking forward to talking with you all! :)

Hi,

My name is Mike and I live in the Seattle, WA area. Last night, I bought my Mazda2 Sport 5-spd in Spirited Green Metallic paint. Took the car home today. After driving her to work and back she now has a total of 50 miles on her. So, I'm still in the break-in period.

I really like the car. I also tested the Fit and the Fiesta. Both good cars but the Mazda2 was more fun to drive, had better driver feedback, and was cheaper. Perfect for me!

My plans are to use my 2 as a daily driver, autocross toy, and occasional track car. Depending on how things shape up for the B-SPEC road racing class, I might turn my car into a B-SPEC road racer. I currently road race a 1989 Honda CRX Si in the ITA and Honda Challenge 4 classes. Prior to the CRX, I raced a Spec Miata.

In the near term, I plan on modding the 2 for the SCCA H Stock autocross class. So, cold air intake, lightweight Enkei wheels, and Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec tires. I might have a cat-back exhaust fabbed up. This is legal for the H Stock class. I'd also like to add a shift light and oil pressure and water temp gauges.

As soon as the B-SPEC rules get published and parts are available, I will probably install a B-SPEC-legal suspension and start getting that dialed in for track duty.
