what are some recommended brands for aftermarket performance exhaust systems? i know HKS is one of the top brands, but i haven't seen any info on a exhaust system from them for the mazda2 or demio as yet.

Here's one of the best sound exhaust clips I found on youtube. Its from the company Autoexe and makes the Mazda 2 sound so much better. Definitely doesn't sound like those fart cans you find on most Honda Civics.

AutoExe has some good aftermarket parts for the Mazda 2 aka Demio. That exhaust from them doesn't sound too bad at all.

I really think the HKS exhaust system sounds good on the Mazda 2 aka Demio (im a HKS fan :) ). I can't tell if the video below has a cat back system, axle back, or even cut out resonators with either cat back or axle back but i believe this is one sick sounding Mazda 2 (demio)

revving when the car is stationary with no load doesn't truly represent what an exhaust will sound like on a car.

Exhaust companies should test on a dyno like this to better represent what their systems will sound like.

If that's not an option due to cost or lack of a dyno, they should have several drive bys at WOT or at least a recording inside the cabin of the car while doing a 2nd and/or 3rd gear pull.

Many people have been disappointed with how their exhausts sound in real world situations when based on just rev tests.

An exhaust for mazda 2 should be an issue to find, but an idea you could take on is custom fabricating just an exhaust. Get your local muffler shop or speedy auto to, grab an exhaust, and bend the pipe to the mazda's 2 spec's.

other bigs Brands out there are Apex'i , Greddy, and such maby you could even custom a honda exhust on such as a J's Racing exhaust.

From personal experience, a custom exhaust always sounds better than any out of the box catback.
