im trying to get my finances in order so i can figure out when i should purchase one. when would be a good time to buy a 2011 mazda 2?

There's a promotion Mazda is running right now for the Mazda 2. They're offering a 2.9% rate if you finance the car. Plus depending some dealerships are also offering a cash rebate on top of that as well. The promo is only good until November 1, 2010 though.

^Good answer. Most car companies are recovering from the recession at a steady pace. The more they recover, the less incentives they will be willing to offer. So grab one as soon as you can if you want to save money. Otherwise wait for next year when they are clearing out the 2011 Mazda 2 to make room for the 2012 models.

Didn't get any special offers with my car but I wasn't a hard sale by any means. They knew I was going to buy either way, which is probably a bad thing for me. I'm happy with what I paid however

As long as you were happy with your purchase thats what important. Although it is a bad thing when they know you will buy either way. That pretty much puts all the negotiating power on their end.
